Dear listeners and readers of Solely Politics,
Who’d have thought we’d ever see the day that Donald J Trump becomes the 45th President of the United States of America? Not many of us, but nevertheless it’s real. So today we really have to look at the big picture. We start a new chapter in our nation’s history today and although the country is more divided than ever and this election cycle has left many scars, today is the day we must try to come together. There are those who will not, but that won’t change the fact that Donald Trump is now the leader of the free world and that his decisions will now affect us all.
On this day, we really should strive for some sort of unity. No matter our political divisions, we are all members of this amazing nation and frankly if the president does a bad job, the nation suffers. With that being said, nobody should be wishing the new president the worst because we are all in this together. Solely Politics would like to wish the best of luck to President Trump and his new administration.
On a final note, although we wish President Trump the best of luck this does not mean he is beyond criticism. We must remember to hold all of our elected officials to our standards, challenge them, and make sure to make our voices heard if they go against the will of the people. Always be skeptical, never follow blindly, and always use your right to freedom of speech to speak out.
We would like to thank our readers and listeners and wish them all the best! There will be new podcasts and articles to come shortly!
It’s been almost one week since Donald Trump became the President Elect of the United States and it seems as though ever since they called the race early last Wednesday morning the madness has not slept.
The healing of a country has been put off as protesters have taken to the streets to show their displeasure with the final outcome of the 2016 Presidential Election; some peaceful, some not. Many of these protests have turned into all out riots with vandalism and violence against Trump supporters. Probably the most bitter sweet thing about this whole thing is that the people out rioting and protesting the results of the election are the same people who heavily criticized Donald Trump just weeks ago when he said he didn’t know if he’d accept the results of the election. The hypocrisy is real, and it’s now showing more than ever as the end this absolutely horrible election cycle is finally here. The country is at an absolute height of ideological and political divide. This election only widened this divide and now these riots will only widen it even more. The blatant disregard for the result of our democratic process is just outstanding and almost unbelievable. However, when you think about the kind of year it’s been and about the lunacy of Social Justice Warrior Regressives, nothing of this sort seems surprising anymore.
Whether we like it or not, Donald Trump will be The President of The United States come January; and the people will have to come to terms with this and begin to heal the country. Even Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have told the American people that we need to at least give Donald Trump the chance to lead.
No amount of rioting will change the results, and the Regressives just don’t seem to understand this. Perhaps the greatest irony off all is that they also don’t understand that they were the ones who created their #1 enemy. They created Donald Trump. Contrary to the beliefs of the media or any Regressive Leftist, the result of this election was not the fault of a right-winged, racist, bigoted, sexist, homophobic, Islamophobic conspiracy! You can only undeservedly call people racists for so long without expecting some kind of response, and they finally got one. This is the reason why people will look at their movement with disgust, this is the reason why people will finally see the lunacy of their rhetoric, this is the reason why people will join our free speech movement, and this is the reason why our movement will crush the fascist and undemocratic Regressive Left!
Following the election of Donald Trump as President of The United States, outbursts across the United States have erupted. Many riots, protests, and snappy late night show remarks have just painted the internet with endless stories to report on. However, this one seemed the most prevalent and most outrageous in regards to undermining free speech. GrubHub’s CEO Matt Maloney decided he wanted to take action and released the following statement after the results of the election poured in:
Now obviously Mr. Maloney is not wrong when saying that he believes anti-immigration views, hateful views, ect. are bad. However, Mr. Maloney failed to take into account that to the vast majority of people who voted Donald Trump into the White House, these are not the things Donald Trump stands for. To most, Donald Trump stands for a fight against the political machine, the establishment, and politicians that have been unresponsive to the people who elected them into office. Generalizing and making his employees feel as though they don’t belong in their place of work if they casted their vote for Donald Trump is absolutely asinine and not what the United States is about. Nobody should have to feel like they don’t belong in their place of work because of which political party or candidate they voted for, and for any CEO to use the power he/she has to make their employees feel that way is showing a clear abuse of power and they should be ashamed of themselves.
This is how suppression works. If you’re a GrubHub employee who has voted for Donald Trump and really need your job, how likely are you to express any political views you have? Probably not very likely. This is a prime example of someone in a position of power abusing their power to silence anyone with whom they disagree with. Censorship and undermining free speech should not be tolerated and it’s not unfathomable to think that GrubHub will receive a lot of backlash and some boycott attempts.
