Trump retweets and CNN takes the bait

CNN found a way to make themselves look even more petty than Trump today. After Trump retweeted a GIF of himself taking a golf shot that hits Hillary Clinton as she falls the the ground, CNN responded with multiple articles making this seem like another huge deal. This to many is a reminder of the WWE GIF that Trump retweeted during the summer, which sparked similar outrage. To Trump’s trolling credit, the account the tweet came from goes by the name “CNN Sucks.” So if his goal was to piss off CNN and give them a BS story to cover constantly for the next two days, he succeeded. However, if he wasn’t trying to do this, he just created another distraction for him and his administration to deal with.

This is just another prime example of how the media is ready to jump on just about anything Trump does, but at the same time has to make you wonder what Trump is thinking when he does things like this. Like previously stated, if Trump is now doing things like this just to get under CNN’s skin, then he’s exceeded expectations and they’ve taken his bait once again.

Hero worship in politics always leads to disappointment

Hero worship in politics always leads to disappointment

There’s an immense amount of problems in politics today. However, one in particular has stolen the spotlight this past week after stories circulated about Trump striking a deal on DACA with Democrats Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. This problem is the abundance of hero worship we see in politics. It spans across the political spectrum from the Bernie Bros to the Trumpsters. This week it was the Trumpsters who were very upset with their icon. After these stories circulated about Trump, some of his most adamant supporters took to social media to express their displeasure with him.

Take Ann Coulter for example:

Ann Coulter’s Book “In Trump We Trust” was one of her many promotions of Donald Trump and her belief in his promises.

Coulter clearly showing that she’s no longer on the Trump train after finding out that Trump was planning on striking a deal with Democrats on DACA.

Coulter is a prime example of the many who jumped off the Trump train real fast after these stories about Trump started circulating. Just as many of the Bernie Bros learned the hard way when he sold out to Clinton at the DNC, hero worship in politics does nothing but prop up these political figures for fantastic and amazing expectations only to always have its followers disappointed after a failure to fulfill these expectations. If you think a certain politician embodies all your views and principles, there’s a 99.9% chance you will be disappointed eventually. Why? Because they’re politicians, even those like Trump who claims they aren’t. Politics is a dirty game, and it corrupts even the most principled people. This isn’t to say that Trump or Sanders are principled in any way, Sanders the socialist owns 3 houses and Trump the poster boy for deportation clearly just showed he couldn’t care less. However, this is an opportunity to warn fans of certain politicians that even if they seem principled and unbreakable, politics will find a way of breaking them down, and you will be disappointed. Hero worship in politics is a great way to pump up a candidate, and a great way to bring them down, the latest event is just one more example.

Trump and the media, a perfect match made in Hell

Trump and the media, a perfect match made in Hell

The mainstream media has completely lost it, we can all agree on that. They are a joke, they lie, and they push an agenda that is so toxic and divisive that it’s really hard to stomach. Everyone knows that the mainstream media is horrible, but at the same time Trump makes their job of creating zero substance clickbait stories 1,000,000 times easier than it could be! For the past 2 years we’ve watched as Trump and the media mindlessly go back and fourth at one another like two 1st graders arguing over who should be “it” in a game of tag. It’s intolerable, and the American people are so sick of watching this circus. From the moment Trump stepped on the stage to announce his presidency, the media started salivating at their chance to cover something new. We all saw it and we all thought it wouldn’t last, but unfortunately it did. The constant coverage of everything Trump expanded from his campaign into his presidency and has not stopped since. It’s annoying, it’s pointless, and 75% of it is a load of crap. This is where Trump needs to begin being smart, but he won’t do it. Why? Cause he’s Trump and he can’t control himself. A little bit of advice Mr. President: Complaining about how unfairly you’re being treated by the media is not going to get you anywhere! Saying stupid things and acting impulsively because you got angry will not help you. Finally, tweeting irrelevant crap at three in the morning, spelling half the words wrong, and ending each tweet with “SAD!” will not help you!

Trump reacts to the media so impulsively that he makes it easier for them to mock him.

He does nothing but give the media fodder for stories about him! Does the media rake him over the coals? Yes. Unfortunately, this is the way it is. Trump is a Republican, it comes with the territory. The media also treated George W. Bush terribly, but he dealt with it in a way that wouldn’t help the media aside from his notorious grammar mistakes. Trump acting like a victim will not help him. If he would just ignore the BS stories, not give the media the attention they crave, and stop screwing over his press secretary by making him look like a buffoon, then maybe he can overcome the media trying to swamp him. Right now the mainstream media is outsmarting Trump, so unless he can get himself under control they’ll continue to produce endless fake news stories in a vicious cycle with Trump brainlessly providing the starting content.

A message to our readers and listeners on inauguration day

A message to our readers and listeners on inauguration day

Dear listeners and readers of Solely Politics,

Who’d have thought we’d ever see the day that Donald J Trump becomes the 45th President of the United States of America? Not many of us, but nevertheless it’s real. So today we really have to look at the big picture. We start a new chapter in our nation’s history today and although the country is more divided than ever and this election cycle has left many scars, today is the day we must try to come together. There are those who will not, but that won’t change the fact that Donald Trump is now the leader of the free world and that his decisions will now affect us all.

On this day, we really should strive for some sort of unity. No matter our political divisions, we are all members of this amazing nation and frankly if the president does a bad job, the nation suffers. With that being said, nobody should be wishing the new president the worst because we are all in this together. Solely Politics would like to wish the best of luck to President Trump and his new administration.

On a final note, although we wish President Trump the best of luck this does not mean he is beyond criticism. We must remember to hold all of our elected officials to our standards, challenge them, and make sure to make our voices heard if they go against the will of the people. Always be skeptical, never follow blindly, and always use your right to freedom of speech to speak out.

We would like to thank our readers and listeners and wish them all the best! There will be new podcasts and articles to come shortly!
